Do you ever feel like you have a never ending to-do list looming over your head? With my upcoming cruise to Bermuda on Saturday I feel completely overwhelmed. In fact, I have been feeling completely crazy pants (see what I did there) for pretty much as long as I can remember. The ultimate task master, I am not. I get so envious of super on top of it people, like my roommate Adrienne for example. She powers from one thing to the next, never seeming breaking a sweat. I however, as she will most certainly attest, am habitually side tracked, indecisive, and straight up forgetful. But having a scattered mind isn't necessarily always a bad thing. I think it makes me more open to spur of the moment adventures because I'm not so dead set on a certain plan. Flexibility breads creativity which is very important when you are running a blog. So over the next few days I will make all good faith attempts to pack early, make lists of places to visit, and generally get my s#!+ together. But knowing me, my favorite outfit will be the one I didn't plan & the best meal will be a random recommendation from a chatty local I ask for directions (...yes I also get lost, a lot). And even though I'll probably forget to remind her, I know Adrienne will still be at the airport to pick me up :)
How was everyone's Memorial Weekend? I kicked it off right with a pit stop over at one of my Dallas favorites: Truck Yard. This time, rather than my usual beer and sliders, I was in search of a sweet treat - and boy did I find it! Carnival Barkers ice cream is hand made with "no chemicals, fillers, or bullshit added", aka just what the doctor ordered. I opted for the fruity pebbles flavor...because I'm twenty something going on eight. It is that same child like spirit that compels me to wear a dress with pineapples printed all over it(*quite the steal at only 54 dollars I might add).
It's a magical time of year.. the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale! If you're budget is always a little less than you wish like mine always is, then here is my top strategy for stretching the dollar: I live for major sales that allow me to stock up on my favorite things that I might otherwise passover at full price. (Hello expensive candles!) I've spent my morning sipping tea and scrounging the entire sale for the good stuff and these are my top picks.
I had such a hard time figuring out how to wear this shirt. Sure I can go braless with the best of them when something is backless and or low cut, but in this particular instance it was a no go. I decided to wear this neon bralette underneath bc it was the only option that I felt enhanced rather than took away from the shirt. I love all of the sheer lace and cutouts but I didn't want a full on peep show. What do y'all think of my pop of neon solution?
As much as I am in LOVE with this tuxedo romper, today I want to focus on what I'm wearing underneath it. Let's just say I haven't been this excited since I discovered double sided boob tape. I don't know about y'all, but many rompers and I have sadly had to part ways in the dressing room because I simply could not figure out what the F kind under garment situation would be appropriate. When a dress is sheer you wear a slip, but what do wear under a sheer romper?? I give you the Free People seamless romper! Available in white or black, even with a super low back, this little guy is basically a slip with leg wholes and has already become my summer savior.
