NYFW LOOK ONE

Tuesday, September 22, 2015

I wore this striped little number for my first day at NYFW last Sunday. It was a packed day of brunches & parties so I knew I wanted to be chic but comfortable. I recently discovered Oasis Fashion (a london based brand & I am actually visiting the flagship store today, but more on that later..) and fell in love with this striped shirt dress. I love that I could dress it up for the Mode Media and Rewardstyle parties, but not feel over dressed for Jenn's brunch at The Mckittrick Hotel (which I highly recommend btw). I ended the night at one of my favorite lower east side bars 'No Fun' with a few of my fav bloggers, and then it was off to bed and onto to the next big day.

TRAVEL ESSENTIAL: MOPHIE CASE

Friday, August 14, 2015
One of the best purchases I made at the beginning of this summer was a Mophie 'charging case' for my phone. I have been traveling more and more lately, and the last thing I need is to have to drop everything to try and find somewhere to charge my phone. I've taken this case on my Bermuda, Charleston, & Miami trips and not one time did my phone die during the day. Which if you know how addicted bloggers are to taking pictures and sharing on social media, is say something. The true test is going to be to see how it holds up under NYFW, but I think my Mophie is up to the task.

#TBT PALM PRINT ON ELBOW BEACH

Thursday, August 6, 2015

I wanted to share these photos from my time a couple months ago in Bermuda. It really was such an amazing trip and I can't wait to go back! I love this little palm print set - it was perfect for a day of walking around the island & hanging on the beach. Palm print has been another one of my favorite trends of summer, and it even has started to trickle into my home decor inspiration. Does that ever happen to y'all?

BEAT THE SWIM WEEK HEAT - PART TWO

Wednesday, July 29, 2015

When planning my looks for Swim Week in Miami I not only wanted hairstyles (see my 'heidi braids' post here) that would beat the heat, but also a makeup routine that would be melt proof and stay flawless. Let's just call it out - I am a sweaty person, and the Florida humidity in July does not help matters...the struggle gets real people. So, short of Scotchgarding my entire face, I require make up with some serious staying power preferably of the straight up waterproof variety. The whole Bobbi Brown long wear collection is perfect for me, I especially love the perfectly definitely brow pencil (gotta keep those brows on fleek), & cream shadow stick in Surf & Sand (which never get that gross crease half way through the day like other shadows praise hands emoji).

In general I try to keep it light by skipping heavy creams or foundations, and wearing a tinted moisturizer like this one from bareMinerals. Don't forget there are also products that actually benefit from the heat like this cream blush & highlighting 'on the glow' stick by Wander Beauty (a new cult favorite). I like to buff all three into my face with my trusty beauty blender, and then add some waterproof bronzer. I set my make up with a few spritz of Caudalie beauty elixer and make sure to keep the travel size in my purse to keep my skin refreshed and hydrated throughout the day (*pro tip - leave in the refrigerator for an extra cooling effect). At the end of each day I used CLEANSE by Lauren Napier cloths combined with this Bobbi Brown instant long-wear makeup remover to make sure that my canvas was fresh and ready for the next day of Swim Week :)
