Retro Glam: Charlotte Olympia

Wednesday, May 29, 2013
I am absolutely dying over these new bags from Charlotte Olympia. I love her whimsical design aesthetic and it is so apparent in these perfume bottle clutches! These purses are little works of art and sure to be a great conversation piece where ever they go. What do you guys think?

Casual Crochet

Sunday, May 26, 2013

FREE PEOPLE crochet dress | NORDSTROM tank slip dress | JOIE weber wedge sandals | H&M suede bag | J.CREW double-tassel necklace | c/o ELIZABETH SHOWERS hope star bracelet* | LILY & LAURA beaded bracelets | DELIA LANGAN stacked rings | MELANIE LYNN rings eclectic | ESSIE candy apple mint nail polish

Usually when I think of festival style, I think of Free People. They have so many great options like this adorable crop top or these perfect cutoffs--and how perfect is their tent for camping out on the grounds!? Now that my hair is ombre I think it's the perfect time to finally try out this hair chalk. What do y'all think is their best piece to wear to all of these amazing summer concerts?

Shorts season is upon us! I love this chambray pair from J.Crew. They are so versatile and breezy, I think I will be getting a lot of use out of them now that I am back in this Texas heat!

Another of my summer favorites is this yellow cross body from the Coach Legacy collection. Yellow is such a great neutral, and it is the perfect size for running around Dallas. Not to mention that it is the perfect compliment to my Chanel espadrilles-SideSmile.

Neutral Nights

Tuesday, May 21, 2013

H&M sweater | ZARA beaded shorts | LINEA PELLE croco clutch (last seen here) | c/o KENDRA SCOTT 'elle' earrings | SAM EDELMAN yara lucite heel sandal (also here)

I've never been one to shy away from bright color or prints, but lately I have been in a very neutral phase. That's why I flipped when I saw these Sam Edelman heels. The lucite and studed details on these shoes are the perfect way to glam up any black and white outfit (and I have been basically living in them since they came in the mail). Another one of my new favorite accessories are these Kendra Scott 'Elle' earrings-I already want another pair. Which color is your favorite?

Bitchin'

Monday, May 20, 2013

With music festival season in full effect, I thought I'd share one of my go to concert outfits. I wore this look last week to the Ben Rector show at the Blue Note. I am complete in love with these Free People shorts for summer. They are just the right amount of high waisted to go with all of the fun tanks I plan on wearing-including this adorably retro 'bitchin' top sent to me by Junk Food. What is y'alls go to festival style?

School's out for Summer
School's out forever
School's been blown to pieces

I wore this outfit for my last class as a college student. I have to say the past few weeks have been pretty surreal. It's been no secret that at times Columbia hasn't exactly been my favorite place. However, I've met some brilliant friends and had life shaping experiences that I will  be forever grateful for. I've never been more unsure of what the future holds, and for the first time in my life I'm actually glad. I can't wait for my next adventure, whatever it may be and I am so glad that this blog, along with my AMAZING readers, will be apart of it! And before I start to get too sentimental and 'be all you can be' on y'all, I'll hand it back over to Mr. Alice Cooper:

No more pencils
No more books
No more teacher's dirty looks

Out for Summer
Out till Fall
We might not go back at all

School's out forever
School's out for summer
School's out with fever
School's out completely

SideSmile Guide: How to wear overalls

Tuesday, May 7, 2013

1 TOPSHOP moto tommy vintage overalls | 2 REBECCA MINKOFF large box bag | 3 MAYA BRENNER initial necklace via BaubleBar | 4 KAREN WALKER coral number one sunglasses | 5 SCHUTZ seth disco heel | 6 EQUIPMENT aquamarine francis top

I am loving the Overalls trend right now-but I know it can be a bit daunting to figure out how to style them without looking like a toddler or a railroad conductor. I think that with fun and bold accessories, like these Schutz heels and this Rebecca Minkoff bag, you can easily transform a pair of overalls into a chic modern look. What do you guys think: are you down to sport some overalls??

Right now there is nothing cuter to me than a great ankle strap sandal. Throw in my go to color cobalt and I am sold! I love the Tibi heels that Olivia Palermo is wearing in this Marie Claire Mexico editorial, but if you're not wanting to break the bank this pair from Zara is a great alternative.

The Outnet + Coveteur in TX

Thursday, May 2, 2013
The Coveteur, The Outnet, Room on Main, Dallas Fashion Event, Luella and June, Bag Snob, Sea of Shoes, Courtney Kerr

Last week I had the great fortune of being invited to attend a special event hosted by The Outnet. I brought my bestie Caitlyn along, and ran into a few local bloggers including the lovely Bradley of Luella & June. In case you aren't already Outnet obsessed (I have been known to habitually check the new arrivals tab each morning), let me catch you up to speed. The Outnet is an online destination for designer discount shopping created by the gold standard of luxury online retail Net-a-porter.  From Alice + Olivia to Zac Posen (see what I did there? A-Z) the Outnet proves that you really can have it all and at a discount. The room was artfully curated by the dynamic duo of Erin Kleinberg and Stephanie Mark that make up The Coveteur (one of my personal favorite blogs). I loved having the Outnet in the Big D and hope they come back very soon!
What I Wore:

Outfit Details: MADEWELL denim shirt | CLOVER CANYON surfer neoprene skirt | ALEXANDER WANG emile tote via the outnet (similar) | SCHUTZ heels

Ombre Lite

Wednesday, May 1, 2013
Lately I've been having a quarter life crisis...with my hair. I don't know what it is about graduating , but it gets me itching to change my do. Believe it or not up until my freshman year of college I used to be a blonde. After graduating high school, I woke up and decided that I was done with blonde and that it just had to be auburn. The next couple of years I bounced from color to color until I finally decided to stop dying it all together. I've really grown to love my natural color, but after two years of the same--it needed a little zhush. Enter Emily from Hair by Charlie. We settled on a subtle look I like to call "ombre lite." Emily is an amazing stylist and I highly recommend her to anyone in the Dallas area!
